CBF Priorities The Chesapeake Bay, North America's largest estuary, is a national treasure. Unfortunately, pollution is choking the Bay and many of its tributary rivers. CBF is the only independent conservation organization dedicated solely to saving the Chesapeake Bay and its rivers and streams. Since 1967, our goal has been to improve water quality by reducing pollution. Our motto, Save the Bay, has been the battle cry for that goal.
CBF is seeking images from around the watershed that illustrate the beauty, benefits, and bounty of the Bay and its rivers and streams. Concepts and topics to consider are listed below.
Beauty: scenic shots of regional waterways and wildlife from all seasons and parts of the watershed.
- Recreation: people of all ages using local waterways for fishing, sailing, canoeing, swimming, etc.
- History and Legacy: images that convey the value of the Bay and its rivers and streams in shaping the past, present, and future; depict multiple generations at work and play on the Bay; or illustrate the importance of leaving a legacy of clean, safe water for future generations.
- Agriculture: crop and livestock farming, agricultural conservation practices, farmers’ markets, etc.
