Join us at water's edge in Annapolis for an evening of great friends, groovin' live music, cool drinks, tasty grilled food, and an auction of Chesapeake Bay art.
"Bands in the Sand has become one of the 'can't miss' summer parties in Annapolis," exclaims Dick Franyo. Franyo is a "Committed to the Bay" Committee Co-Chair along with, Roger Feldman, David Houck, Lisa Kahan, Nancy Lowell Lashley, and Amy Lawrence. Together, the Co-Chairs have organized the 5th annual Bands in the Sand event to be held at the Philip Merrill Environmental Center on Saturday June 19th.
Franyo, a CBF Trustee and owner of the Boatyard Bar & Grill in Eastport, Maryland, developed the idea for Bands in the Sand in 2006 and it has become CBF’s signature event. Over the last five years, Bands in the Sand has raised almost half a million dollars for CBF supporting our field education programs, on-the-ground restoration activities, and our work to urge the state and federal governments to allocate more funds to Bay cleanup and pollution prevention.
Our Co-Chairs have put together a special evening on the beach to celebrate the 5th annual Bands in the Sand that will help to protect and preserve the Chesapeake Bay. Grilled fare will be provided by the Boatyard Bar & Grill, and live music from S.T.O.R.M. and Misspent Youth will have everyone dancing on the beach. There will also be an auction of beautiful Chesapeake Bay art.
CBF extends a warm thank you to Dick Franyo and all of the "Committed to the Bay" Committee Co-Chairs for their hard work organizing the 5th annual Bands in the Sand.
Plan to join us for this fun evening on the beach for the 5th annual Bands in the Sand.
