These five-day summer immersion courses provide an experience that equips teachers with the knowledge, tools, skills, and confidence to use the local environment in their classroom. Teachers explore the watershed and examine the connection between land use and water quality through hands-on investigations, standards-based activities and assessments, and action projects.

During each five-day course teachers learn:

  • How to connect the local environment to state content standards
  • How to assess the health of a schoolyard and stream by using scientific tools and investigations, and
  • The elements of a successful restoration project and how to implement one in a school or community.

Note: CBF course leaders determine the exact itinerary for the trip.  The itinerary is weather dependent.
