CURRICULUM WORKSHOPS

CBF’s interdisciplinary classroom curricula are aligned with the National Science Standards and give teachers the skills necessary to teach their students how to investigate watershed problems and develop solutions. This course adheres to state academic standards in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

Workshop Objectives
Participants will learn to do the following:

  • Use lessons from CBF’s state based curriculum in their classrooms and schoolyard
  • Provide students with the tools necessary to investigate their local environment
  • Implement an integrated approach in teaching students about the environment
  • Provide students with a balanced view of the environment by focusing on environmental solutions in addition to problems

What to Bring

  • Lunch - the day will be packed with no time to step out to purchase lunch.

Instructional materials
All participants will receive:

  • A Curriculum CD including digitized versions of the state-based curriculum
  • Hard copies of selected lessons
  • Graphic materials including satellite and political maps of the Bay watershed
  • Video resources
