If you have ordered in the past you will find that we have a few new aspects to our meat sale:

  1. We ask that you place your order through this website.
  2. We have two exciting new options—one for steak lovers and one for roast lovers.
  3. We are using Wagner's Meats in Mount Airy, Maryland for our meat processing, a family owned and operated shop. Tommy, Heather, and Angie are wonderful to work with and have helped us with processing meats for several years.

Your purchasing choices really do affect the Bay and your family's health. Our grass-fed beef is:

  • delicious and healthy—no GMO's, no antibiotics, no hormones—and it has a healthy balance of Omega 3 to Omega 6 fatty acids, is high in conjugated linoleic acids and vitamins, and low in saturated fats;
  • good for the environmentpastures used for grazing help to sequester carbon and create a wonderful spongy soil that catches and retains water; and
  • a great way to strengthen local communities by supporting local family meat shops and recycling your dollars many times through the rural economy.

Stop by the farm any time to see the herd, especially the new little calves; or feel free to call anytime with any questions, 301-627-4393. You can also send us an e-mail at mheller@cbf.org.

The Maryland Grazers Network

Logo: Maryland Grazers NetworkThe Maryland Grazers Network is a mentorship program that pairs experienced livestock, dairy, sheep, and poultry producers with farmers who want to learn new grazing skills. The Grazers Network Project Team provides technical assistance and includes experts in pasture and forage management, financial management, marketing, and funding resources.

The Grazers Network also provides funds for the Amazing Grazing Directory which lists 120 grazers in Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Developed by Clagett Farm and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF), the Network is a collaboration of CBF, University of Maryland Extension, and the Natural Resources Conservation Service.
