Involve and Educate Your Community

There are many ways to get involved in Bay-Friendly landscaping. Here’s how:

  • Invite your neighbors to see your Bay-Friendly garden and landscape; show them how you are helping the Bay, and answer their questions;
  • Get involved in creating schoolyard habitats;
  • Offer to plant a native plant and wildlife garden on public property in your town, county, or state;
  • Talk to your neighbors and community association about organizing local projects, such as:
    • Designing and creating a Bay-Friendly landscape.
    • Removing non-native invasive plants on community or public property.
    • Holding a planting event.
    • Adding signs to your projects to educate the public.
