Chesapeake Classrooms focuses on methods to incorporate environmental education into the core subject areas of reading, math, science, and social studies. The resources used in Chesapeake Classrooms meet state educational standards in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia.

Educators can earn graduate or recertification credits by participating in one of our five day immersion courses held throughout the watershed in the summer. Additional application skills and recertification credits can be earned by attending our workshop series during the school year.

CBF's Chesapeake Classrooms is supported by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) B-WET program and the National Geographic Education Foundation. The Montgomery County project is supported by an award from the Precollege Science Education Program of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. CBF's Environmental Leadership for Principals program is supported in part by the NOAA B-WET program.
