CBF Educator Jenny Geilfuss.Tenure at CBF: August 2012-Present

Education:
Messiah College, BA in Athletic Training and College of Notre Dame of Maryland, MA in Teaching.

Jenny’s grandfather, Sam Bratton, has a lot to do with her interest in the Chesapeake Bay. For more than 50 years he has lived on the Bay near Fort Smallwood Park, Maryland, where he is an avid fisherman. His passion for nature and simple living was passed onto his children and eventually to his grandchildren.

Jenny was introduced to CBF on a field experience as a teacher with her 8th grade students at the Philip Merrill Environmental Center in Annapolis in the fall of 2011. Prior to teaching physical education at St. Mark School in Catonsville for three years, she gained valuable experience as a special education tutor at Westbrook High School, Connecticut, located on the Long Island Sound. She has enjoyed working with children of various ages in prior positions such as a waterfront director, lifeguard, and boat driver as well as a canoeing and sailing instructor.
