Baltimore Harbor Program Captain/Educator

Tenure at CBF: 2006-present

Education: BS Biology; USCG 100-ton Inland Master License, 35-hour Radar Observer

John captains the workboat Snow Goose and educates individuals about the Patapsco River and its role in the watershed. His program includes history, water chemistry, trawl fishing, and oyster dredging.

Prior Experience:

  • Six years working as an educator and captain for Living Classrooms Foundation
  • One summer as a pulling boat instructor for Outward Bound
  • Five years collecting and testing environmental samples for a commercial testing lab
  • Two years working with farmers for a beneficial reuse program
