- Summer is the perfect time for teachers to learn outside while they earn recertification credits AND gather interdisciplinary lesson plans for the classroom. Sign up for a Chesapeake Classrooms five-day course to discover a new world of fun along your local river or on an island in the heart of the Chesapeake.
- Although scheduling for CBF’s Spring 2012 field season has been completed, we still have a few openings on several of our programs: Clagett Farm, Skipjack, Philip Merrill Center, Potomac River, and VWEP. If you are interested in booking a date for any of these programs, please contact the scheduling department at educationcoordinator@cbf.org or 410/268-8816.
- Principal Leadership Program: Our summer programs aren't just for teachers. Our Environmental Leadership for Principals Program teaches you how to implement a school program that utilizes and benefits the local environment. Click here to read more details and to register.
- Students in 7th and 8th grades (from PA, MD, VA, NY, WV, DC, and DE) are invited to participate in an essay contest to discuss their favorite science teacher and how this teacher has had an impact on his or her learning. The deadline for essay submissions is May 31, and the winning essay will be chosen before June 25. The winner will spend a day with international conservationist and educator Jeff Corwin on the set of Expedition Chesapeake during the 2012-2013 school year. Read more details.
