Growing up, I spent my summers in this small cottage community nestled on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. We would play along this creek often, trying to jump across its widest parts. More often than not, one of us kids would end up falling right in the middle, emerging from the water covered in mud.

This was taken at Palace Bar Reef, a sanctuary oyster reef where CBF planted 300 reef balls between 2010 and 2012. It’s now become a favorite fishing spot on Virginia’s Piankatank River.
