  • Photo of the Week: Chesapeake Tradition

After familiarizing ourselves with CBF's oyster gardening restoration efforts, we decided to purchase 1000 seed oysters designed for consumption.

  • Photo of the Week: With the Crickets and the Frogs

Growing up, I spent my summers in this small cottage community nestled on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. We would play along this creek often, trying to jump across its widest parts. More often than not, one of us kids would end up falling right in the middle, emerging from the water covered in mud.

  • Photo of the Week: Palace Bar Reef

This was taken at Palace Bar Reef, a sanctuary oyster reef where CBF planted 300 reef balls between 2010 and 2012. It’s now become a favorite fishing spot on Virginia’s Piankatank River.

  • Photo of the Week: Chesapeake Sunset

View of the Chesapeake Bay from outside the Severn Inn in Annapolis, MD.

  • Photo of the Week: Northern Fence Lizard

This picture of a Northern Fence Lizard with an ant on its head was taken at Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary.

  • Photo of the Week: Peace on the Bay

The Bay and it's tributaries mean so much to me. I grew up on the Magothy River: it is my childhood of boats, swimming, and exploring! It is where I learned how important nature is, and it is truly my "place." The Bay grounds me and gives me peace.

  • Photo of the Week: Above the Bay

The Bay, to me, represents Maryland and the foundation of our lives. From the creatures of the Bay to beautiful summers in the water.

  • Photo of the Week: Remnant of the Past

Beautiful late-August afternoon sunlight catches Sharps Island Lighthouse.

  • Photo of the Week: Giving the Sunrise a Hand

Spence Winter and his son Alex enjoy all the natural beauty the Chesapeake Bay has to offer, including this early morning sunrise on the shore of Hughlett Point Natural Area Preserve.

  • Photo of the Week: After Storm Beauty on the Rhode

The brilliant sky after a storm passed through the Ivy Neck Farm area on Maryland's Rhode River.
