CBF Applauds Gov. McAuliffe's Commiment to New Chesapeake Bay Agreement

(ANNAPOLIS, MD)—Chesapeake Bay Foundation Virginia Executive Director Ann Jennings released this statement following Gov. Terry McAuliffe's pledge that Virginia will support all provisions of the new Chesapeake Bay Agreement. The agreement was signed today by the Bay state governors, the mayor of Washington, D.C., the EPA administrator, and the chairman of the Chesapeake Bay Commission.

"We commend Gov. McAuliffe and his administration for their efforts to strengthen the new Chesapeake Bay Agreement since taking office in January, and for his commitment today that Virginia is 'all in' in support of the agreement's 10 provisions. The governor's pledge reflects his administration's public commitment to clean water, a restored Bay, a robust economy, and a better quality of life for future generations. We also applaud his commitment to environmental literacy, ensuring that tomorrow's leaders have the tools to tackle the environmental challenges they will face."
