Chesapeake Bay Foundation Honored to Receive Governor's Environmental Excellence Award

(ANNAPOLIS, MD)—Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) President Will Baker issued this statement following the announcement by Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe that CBF is the recipient of a 2015 Virginia Governor's Environmental Excellence Gold Award. The award, announced last night at the annual Environment Virginia symposium at Virginia Military Institute, recognizes CBF for creating the Brock Environmental Center, CBF's cutting-edge, environmentally friendly education center in Virginia Beach, Va.

"We set out to raise the bar for green building and sustainability when we envisioned the Brock Environmental Center. We are honored to accept this prestigious award from Governor McAuliffe. The Governor's Environmental Excellence Award reaffirms our belief that the Brock Center can be an international model for what's possible in the built environment—zero impact."
