CBF Issues Statement on Decision to Rezone Fones Cliffs

(RICHMOND, VA)—Chesapeake Bay Foundation Virginia Assistant Director Peggy Sanner issued this statement following the Richmond County Board of Supervisors' November 12 decision to approve Diatomite Corporation's request to rezone Fones Cliffs:

"We are disappointed that the Richmond County Board of Supervisors has voted to approve Diatomite Corporation's request to rezone nearly 1,000 pristine acres along Fones Cliffs for a massive commercial-residential development. The Chesapeake Bay Foundation continues to oppose this development and will examine all appropriate options for protecting this treasured site."
