Your students can take an active role in their local environment. And we mean LOCAL—their own backyard!  Check out YardMap, "a free, social, interactive, citizen science mapping project about habitat creation and low-impact land use."

FieldScopeDown by the Bay
In the spirit of multi-sensory learning, encourage your students to learn about the Bay by singing. A teacher developed this song about preserving the Chesapeake with the intention of keeping the "focus on reading, singing, and learning, not just listening to the music." Sing along here!
