The Harvest
Our members tell us that one share feeds, on average, two adults. Over the past several years, shares have been an average of seven pounds per week over 26 weeks. But no two years or weeks are alike, so we cannot predict exactly what you will receive each week for your share.
Here's a sample of what your shares might include throughout the growing season:
- May to June: Salad greens, turnips, radishes, carrots, kohlrabi, collards, spinach, braising greens, garlic, and a few strawberries.
- July to September: Zucchini, yellow squash, tomatoes, hot and sweet peppers, basil, eggplants, okra, melons, sweet corn, cucumbers, potatoes, beans, and garlic.
- September to November: Kale, cabbage, butternut squash, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, salad greens, carrots, turnips, spinach and radishes.
For a detailed account of previous seasons, check the CSA surveys and years in review category on our blog, Clagett Farm Notes. Or you can just scroll through the blog and see the posts each week that list what was in the shares and what was available for you-pick.
