Shenandoah Valley Tree Plantings

December 3, 4, & 5

Staunton, Virginia

Join us in planting trees to create a forest buffer on a farm in the Shenandoah Valley. These trees will help reduce runoff pollution and erosion, creating healthier streams, as well as improving soil health. Over the course of three days, we will be planting more than 1,000 sapling trees.

All tools and instructions will be provided. We recommend you bring a pair of work gloves, but will have clean sets for those who do not have them. Wear weather-appropriate clothes, sturdy shoes, and bring your own water bottle. Please register below so we can prepare tools appropriately.

COVID-19 Precautions:

  • All participants and staff are required to wear CDC-approved masks [] (neck gaiters and bandannas are not allowed as acceptable face coverings for any CBF activity).
  • All volunteers must complete our health form prior to participating.
  • We will provide each volunteer with the equipment they will need to plant trees. We will sanitize equipment prior to volunteer use and upon return.
  • Volunteer time slots are staggered to limit the number of volunteers planting at one time. Please do not arrive earlier than your scheduled volunteer time.

We will be limiting the number of volunteers who can participate in this event due to COVID-19 restrictions. Only register if you intend to participate on the day of the event. If you find that your schedule or health prevents you from being able to attend, if you have recently had contact with someone who tested positive for the coronavirus, or if you or a family member have a fever or any coronavirus symptoms, please notify us immediately so we can recruit another volunteer in your place.

If you have questions, please contact Virginia Restoration Specialist Alston Horn by email, or by phone, 540-487-9060.
