Learn to be a Watershed and Community Steward!
VA Eastern Shore VoiCeS Program
VoiCeS—Volunteers as Chesapeake Stewards—is a free, multi-week course of evening classes for adult volunteers who want to learn more about the Chesapeake Bay and regional environmental issues and go the extra mile to help save the Bay. The program provides information on subjects affecting the health of our community's natural environment and how you can take action. In-depth sessions are taught by Bay experts from CBF and other regional institutions and organizations.
The course covers such topics as
- Preventing flooding and erosion in your yard
- Creating community gardens
- Exploring the history and culture of the James River
- Becoming a citizen advocate
- and much more!
