Beyond Books

Chesapeake Classrooms TeachersAn Interactive Blueprint
Take a fun and interactive walk through the history of Bay clean-up efforts. Learn how the Chesapeake Clean Water Blueprintour best chance for a saved Baywill be in place by 2025.

Chesapeake Classrooms TeachersSocial Action Project Prezi
Kristen Reza from Broad Acres Elementary School created a Prezi to show how her students can make a difference in the health of the Bay. And she has shared it with all of you here!

Chesapeake Classrooms TeachersCommunication Skills for Your Students
Classes at The Kent School created a newsletter where each student shines as a reporter after coming on a CBF field experience. This might inspire your students to share their own stories of outdoor learning!

  STEM in the Real World
CBF partnered with Spark101 to offer  virtual lessons about how STEM material can help students determine what action project will benefit their local community. Use these video lessons on land use and biodiversity, species diversity and river quality, and water quality testing as pre- or post-field experience activities with your students.

EPA My Waterway Program. How's My Waterway?
Your students need real data in order to understand their waterway and how the Clean Water Act is working for it. The EPA has designed an interactive database of water quality monitoring reports for students to investigate elements like bacteria, dissolved oxygen, and others.

EPA My Waterway Program.Thank you to Mobile Solar Pros of Maryland!
With their help CBF's skipjack, the Stanley Norman, now has a solar panel! This solar panel allows the boat batteries to operate when a charging station is not available, which is perfect for the extended summer courses that CBF runs for our student leaders.
