A green bushel basket full of oysters.

Returning oyster gardeners: It’s time to return your grown spat for planting onto sanctuary reefs.

To provide the best chance of survival and reduce the chance of spreading disease, please bring your oysters to the location nearest their current growing location.

We will have bushel baskets on site for transferring your oysters into, so please transport them in a reusable container—bushel baskets, buckets, cages, or any other sturdy container you can take home with you. No cardboard, no plastic, no containers that will be left behind to avoid creating excess trash.

For questions, please contact Kellie Fiala at MDoystergardening@cbf.org.

*Volunteers understand that all spat-on-shell provided by the Foundation remains the property of CBF and is to be returned at the end of the growing season.
