Upcoming spat distribution dates for picking up new spat and supplies.

Returning oyster gardeners: It’s time to pick up your baby spat for the fall/winter season. (If you are new to CBF’s oyster gardening program, please check our new oyster gardener workshop schedule.) Spat are not sensitive to growing location, so please feel free to choose the distribution location that works best for you.

The spat will be handed out in mesh bags and can be a bit slimy, so please remember to bring a bucket, bin, or a few trash bags to line your car with.

If you need replacement supplies (wire mesh cages, zip ties), this is a great time to pick them up.

For questions, please contact our oyster gardening team at MDoystergardening@cbf.org.

*Volunteers understand that all spat-on-shell remains the property of CBF and is to be returned at the end of the growing season.
