James “Jimmy” Sollner joined the CBF team in 2000, bringing nearly five decades of maritime expertise. A USCG licensed Master Mariner, he entered the marine industry in 1977, building deep mechanical knowledge by owning and operating a commercial fishing boats business and working on ocean-going tugs and oil-field supply vessels.

Based out of the Brock Environmental Center in Virginia Beach, VA, James serves in Operations Maintenance, repairing and maintaining the organization’s vessels across DC, Maryland, Virginia, and the islands in between. He ensures fleet dependability, promotes rigorous safety standards, and remains active in the local waterfront community.
