Maddie Beller
Maryland Engagement Coordinator
Maddie Beller lives in Baltimore City and serves as the Maryland engagement coordinator. She grew up in the Potomac River watershed and agrees with Tom Robbins that we should be called Waterlings rather than Earthlings.
Maddie earned dual bachelor’s degrees in environmental studies and philosophy at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Since graduating, she has held roles in sustainability, food security, and science policy at the local, federal, and international level.
Maddie enjoys working on local solutions to environmental issues and knows that science, people, and community are the solution to the many issues and mysteries surrounding our watershed and ecosystem. Since joining CBF in 2023, Maddie has played a critical role in activating state-level grassroots support for environmental priorities to help save the Bay. She hosts hands-on learning opportunities and advocacy trainings for Marylanders and works with the environmental community across the state to push policy forward.
In her free time, Maddie enjoys hiking, climbing, having friends over for dinner, seeing live music, and fostering kittens.
