Mariah Saunders
Halfmoon Conservation Coordinator
Mariah Saunders is the Halfmoon conservation coordinator at CBF’s Pennsylvania office, where she supports the Halfmoon Renewal Project. In this role, she cultivates conservation opportunities and promotes environmental stewardship by engaging local community members, agricultural producers, and partners throughout the Halfmoon Creek watershed. She organizes events to educate farmers and landowners on effective conservation practices and collaborates with farmers to develop Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans that outline strategies for improving local water quality.
Mariah grew up on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis, Maryland, and now lives in State College, Pennsylvania. She holds degrees in environmental studies and classical civilizations from Wesleyan University and began her career at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center.
