Morgan Shapiro

Baltimore Oyster Restoration Coordinator

Morgan Shapiro, a Baltimore resident and lifelong Marylander, loves everything related to water. After receiving her bachelor’s degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, she returned back to her roots and pursued work in restoring and exploring the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Since then, she’s been involved in a variety of research projects, studying topics from the health of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor to oyster aquaculture and innovation. As the Baltimore oyster restoration coordinator, Morgan brings together volunteers from around the area to grow oysters in the Baltimore Harbor, working to engage the public, restore the harbor and the Bay, and provide positive environmental experiences to all!

In her free time, Morgan loves creating ceramics and pottery, working in her garden, and spending lots of time outside!
