Sammie McCabe is CBF’s central Virginia director of major giving, based in Richmond, Virginia. Born and raised in Hampton just minutes from the Bay, her love for the water runs deep.

She earned her English degree from the University of Lynchburg and later completed a master’s degree in nonprofit leadership. Before joining CBF, she spent several years fundraising at the local United Way in Richmond, building strong roots in the community.

With ties to the mountains, the beach, and the city in between, Sammie enjoys supporting CBF’s work across Virginia. Whether she’s floating down rivers, planting trees, or visiting farms, she feels lucky to explore the waters and lands that make Virginia so special.

At home in Richmond, she and her husband share life with their two cats, Quinn and Wally, who are always up for a good window view and a sunbeam nap.
