Sammie McCabe is CBF’s Central Virginia Director of Major Giving, based in Richmond, Virginia. Born and raised in Hampton just minutes from the Bay, her love for the water runs deep.

She earned her English degree from the University of Lynchburg and later completed a Master of Arts in Nonprofit Leadership. Before joining CBF, she spent several years fundraising at the local United Way in Richmond, building strong roots in the community.

With roots in Virginia’s mountains, beaches, and cities, Sammie enjoys connecting donors to CBF’s work across the state. From boat trips on the James River to tree plantings in Richmond to touring farms in the Upper James, she feels fortunate to experience the places that make Virginia unique.

At home in Richmond, she and her husband share life with their sweet son Simon and their two cats, Quinn and Wally.
