I'm Will Baker, President of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. Happy Thanksgiving, CBF members! We have so much to be grateful for. The Bay is on a trajectory of improvement and the resilience in the Bay bodes very well for its future. We've got the best science in the world, we know all the strategies for clean water, and we've got bipartisan support for the Chesapeake Bay.
But—I'm afraid there's always a but—there's still enormous challenges left. There's still those who refuse to cooperate. Think about climate change. President Trump's denial of its very existence is simply unexplainable. And the administration is rolling back environmental protections that have been in place for decades—for clean air and clean water.
Your refusal to give up is simply inspiring. And it's what will make the Chesapeake Bay the finest example of environmental success the world has ever seen. We are so grateful to you, and we know that in our lifetimes we can save the Chesapeake Bay if we refuse to ever give up.
Let's finish the job.
