  • The City of Virginia Beach, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF), and other partners successfully protected Pleasure House Point (PHP) from development in 2013. Our shared goal has been to ensure both safe public access to the Bay while preserving the area's vital ecosystems. PHP attracts hundreds of visitors daily and most habitats are thriving. However, the site's increasing popularity and impacts from climate change are negatively affecting low- and high-marsh wetland habitats, visitor safety, and the site’s ability to meet its dual goals long-term.
