CBF Issues a Statement on the Passing of Former Senator Paul Sarbanes

Chesapeake Bay Foundation President William C. Baker released this statement following the death of former U.S. Senator Paul Sarbanes.

“The Bay lost a great champion yesterday, when Paul Sarbanes, former U.S. Senator from Maryland, died.
“A man of great intellect, Paul Sarbanes was a life-long public servant. He was one of the most thoughtful and sincere elected officials I have ever known. At the top of his priority list was protecting the environment. And at the top of that list, saving the Chesapeake Bay. A long-time CBF member, I valued his wise counsel and insight.
“America suffered a loss yesterday. He will be missed.”
