    Today the Virginia Marine Resources Commission and Maryland Department of Natural Resources released the results of the 2022 Blue Crab Winter Dredge Survey, an annual estimate of the population of blue crabs in the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. CBF Senior Regional Ecosystem Scientist Chris Moore issued this statement.

    Chesapeake Bay cleanup advocates welcomed today’s announcement by USDA Under Secretary Robert Bonnie that USDA plans to direct an additional $22.5 million this year to helping farmers in the watershed adopt conservation practices that improve water quality in the Bay and its tributaries.

    In support of a recent decision by the Virginia State Air Pollution Control Board to deny the air permit for the proposed Lambert Compressor Station, CBF has filed a motion to intervene in a Mountain Valley Pipeline lawsuit pending in the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
