Will Poston

Forage Campaign Manager

Will Poston grew up fishing and hunting on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, a passion he turned into a career. Will graduated from Miami University (OH) with a focus on political science and legal studies. From there, Will spent years working on conservation and fisheries policy issues in Congress, as a fly-fishing media company’s conservation editor, and with a recreational fishing organization. Will joined CBF in the winter of 2025 as the forage campaign manager, leveraging his fisheries experience and communications backgrounds.

Will leads CBF’s efforts to advocate for menhaden in the Chesapeake Bay. He works to unite the conservation and angling communities under a shared vision of forage fish conservation and serves as the point person for partners, CBF staff, donors, and the public on our menhaden work. His personal passion for sustainable, productive fisheries in Chesapeake Bay and throughout the Atlantic coast fuels his work toward a more sustainable future for Chesapeake Bay menhaden. In addition, Will sits on various fisheries management advisory committees.
