I wander the Chesapeake Bay beaches more than any other destination lately. My love for it continues to deepen, unabated. This red beard sponge was freshly washed ashore and destined, like all its kin, to decorate the Chesapeake Bay beaches with a memory of a vibrantly colored life. The oysters quietly wait for the tide to return. Oversize tires are a useful structure to attach to and use to form "oyster castles". This one had been secured somewhere, but came ashore at Bethel Beach Nature Preserve in Virginia.
Ensure that Bob and future generations continue to enjoy extraordinary sights and places like these along the Chesapeake. Support the Chesapeake Clean Water Blueprint—the plan to Save the Bay and its waters!
