A rescued diamond terrapin is held by a ranger at First Landing State Park, Virginia.

An endangered diamond terrapin, once trapped in a crab pot, is now an educational ambassador at First Landing State Park, Virginia.

Bob Diller

A kind and wildlife savvy vet seized this endangered diamond terrapin from a private citizen in Virginia. Lynnhaven ended up living the good life as an educational ambassador at First Landing State Park on the coast of the lower Chesapeake Bay. He recovered his health, but was not releasable, so he enjoys the company of people servants and park visitors. These beautiful creatures hope everyone installs turtle-release gates in crab pots along the coast so the do not drown when end up checking out the tasty bait.
