2019 Event Recap

Thank you to all our sponsors, guests, volunteers, and vendors who made the 2019 Bands in the Sand such a tremendous success. This year, over 1,600 guests dug their toes in the sand and enjoyed an evening of live music, local cuisine, cold drinks, and a stunning view of the Chesapeake Bay. With this generous support, we were able to raise over $410,000 towards saving the Bay!

This memorable celebration has provided the resources needed to support a vast network of CBF programs. Thanks to our many attendees, over the next year CBF will

  • educate and empower over 32,000 students and teachers;
  • inspire 42,000 advocates to take action in support of a healthier Bay;
  • plant 21,000 trees around the watershed; and
  • plant 34 Million juvenile oysters throughout the Chesapeake Bay.

For more than 50 years our mission has remained the same—save the Bay. Your attendance and support of Bands in the Sand means we can make an even bigger impact in protecting and restoring the Chesapeake Bay. Please check out the full list of sponsors and vendors that made this event possible.

We cannot wait for the 15th annual Bands in the Sand celebration next June and hope to see you there!
